If whatever spy the league of villains has in UA saw Eri’s smile they will turn good on the spot and call Shigaraki telling him they quit. When he asks them why in the EVER LOVING HELL they would do that they send him a picture of Eri smiling. He says he understands completely and wishes the former spy the best.

imbeccablee:

The infiltration had been going splendidly. So far no one had even suspected them at all, and for once in their life, they were thankful for their rather short stature. Sure, they had had a few close calls every once in a while, but they were always quick to cover their tracks.

The dunces at UA were too stupid to realize that maybe it was one of the students that was leaking all the information to the League. Transporting the information was the actual hard part; that is, getting to a place unsuspiciously and alone was. The actual exchange hardly took a minute what with Kurogiri’s quirk. Honestly, the whole thing was a walk in the park.

Which was why they decided to let themselves enjoy the cultural festival today. After all, they’d been doing such good work. They were the ones who had made the USJ Incident possible, as well as the kidnapping at the summer camp the two Hero classes had gone on. Not to sound braggy, but they feel like none of the League’s greater schemes could have gone so smoothly had it not been for their intel.

And sure, maybe watching the students of the school you were actively terrorizing perform and have fun for your own enjoyment was a bit hypocritical, but everyone deserves a break now and then.

Unsurprisingly, the crowd for the Class 1A performance was huge. It was difficult to navigate, and they weren’t able to get all the way to the front, but that was alright. They could see just fine as the currents on the stage opened.

Beside them, an older student with bright golden hair said to a young girl in his arms (she looked rather young to be her, is it his sister? oh shit is she his daughter???), “Can you see, Eri?” (Eri sounds so familiar, where should I know that name-?)

“Yeah…!” the girl named Eri responded and her eyes suddenly lit up as if she recognized someone on the stage. Then she… she…

It was as if a wave hit them and then it felt like a heavy current lifted off of their shoulders. Keeping their vision limited to the corner of their eye was increasingly difficult, all they wanted was to turn around and gaze at the pure sweetness of that smile! It was… it was… breathtaking. Simple purity. They are sure to never witness anything like it again. I must preserve this…!

It is not an easy task getting a photo discretely, but with everyone, including the student and the girl, distracted with the band performance (oh right I’m here to watch them), it was easier than it could have been.

Then, after recovering from seeing the smile head on, they knew what they needed to do.

It was just as difficult to get out of the crowd as it was to get into it, but once they did, they made a beeline for the bathroom. Blessedly, it was empty, so they could call Shigaraki Tomura without any disturbances.

“What do you want?” came Shigaraki’s drawl and they responded immediately, dead set on this decision.

“I’m quitting.”

“The hell? What makes you think you can just quit on me?”

“Shigaraki, you don’t understand. I just- I have to. There’s no reason for me to continue doing this, I’ve been-I’ve been saved.”

“What the fuck are you going on about?”

“Here lemme just-” They sent the picture to him and waited.

There was a long silence. Then-

“Yeah okay, checks out. Have fun, like, with whatever you end up doing, no repercussions here, I get it.”

“Yes, thank you, sir, I’ll be by to get my stuff later, I just gotta, y’know.”

“Yeah, of course, of course, whatever, I get it.”

They end the call, sigh, and walk out of the bathroom, out of UA, and out of a life of villainy all together.

eri’s smile = world peace sorry guys i don’t make the rules

Dabi kept his gaze on the figure that exited the door of the new hideout right as he was about to enter it, all the way from the end of the ally until the figure was nothing more than a shadow shrinking in the distant night.

He swore he had seen them somewhere, the way they had just waved to him before going merrily on their way with an overstuffed backpack certainly gave that impression. And since there wasn’t any smoke crawling out of the door of the hideout, or blood from under it, nothing seemed to suggest that anything was wrong.

But if there was one thing Dabi had learned while “working” with Shigaraki Tomura, that even if it didn’t look like anything was wrong, something is most definitely wrong.

Pushing open the door with a weary sigh, he was greeted by the ratty interior of the League of Villain’s new base of operations, which mostly consisted of a scant handful of third rate moth bitten couches and a couple of bean bag chairs with an ancient TV on the north wall.

Sitting on the bean bag chair closest to TV was none other than Shigaraki Tomura himself, who had barely done anything to acknowledge the fact that Dabi came in besides lifting his left hand lazily, the other far too occupied with holding his phone while he stared quietly at it.

“Who was it that just left?”

“Our spy in UA.”

Although Shigaraki had still not lifted his gaze from the phone while he answered, the answer itself was at least useful, making Dabi raise an eyebrow in interest, “Oh yeah? They have any useful info or something?”

“No, they quit.” Was the casual reply, delivered with all the weight and urgency most people reserved for comments about the weather, “They just came back to take their stuff is all.”

Dabi stood there in dumbstruck silence for a moment, refusing to believe that the person he had allied himself was this damn stupid, “And you just let them leave?”

“Yup.”

“Without any threat of violence?”

“Nope.”

“Don’t you think they might divulge a shit ton of info on us to the heroes?”

“Don’t care.”

Dabi took several deep, ash covered breaths, mind melting rage and sheer cross eyed confusion knocking around in his head for dominance, “Did they at least tell you why they left?”

“Yup.”

The fact that Shigaraki had not even once looked in Dabi’s direction while saying all this nonsensical bullshit in favor of gazing intently at his phone was starting to really aggravate the flame wielding villain, “And you just accepted it?”

“Why wouldn’t I?” He said flippantly, lazily waving his free hand around, “It makes sense.”

MAKES SENSE!?” Dabi finally snapped, blue fire shooting out of his mouth in a steady stream as he clenched his hands in the air, picturing them closing around his  dumb ass boss’s dry skinned neck, “WHAT UNGODLY REASON COULD THERE BE FOR THEM TO LEAVE AND FOR YOU TO JUST LET THEM MERRILY FUCK OFF WITHOUT ANY REPERCUSSIONS!?”

In response, Shigaraki turned his phone so the screen faced the, literally blazing with rage, Dabi. And he was more than happy to finally see what the asshole was looking at the whole time while ignoring him.

He actually started to sympathize with Kurogiri, if he had to deal with Shigaraki’s bullshit 24/7 he’d be drinking himself bitter everyday to deal with all of-

His rambling thoughts petered out slowly as he looked at the picture, his flames steadily dying out as the rage inside him melted away, his mind beginning to fill with a feeling of calm and peace, as if all the cruelty in the world drifted away on a sun beam while he stayed behind to bask in the shine.

That kid had a really cute smile.

Yeah,” Dabi muttered, slowly making his way to the last free bean bag chair, “Yeah that makes sense.”

Turning his phone so the screen faced him again, Shigaraki hummed, “Told you.”

The two sat in the dark for a while, Shigaraki still staring at the picture while Dabi was reconsidering a few choices he’d made over the years regarding his family (He should call mom in the hospital, she’s been doing better hasn’t she?), until the front door open again, this time with a cheerful crash and the excited yell of two energetic villains.

“Good evening everyone!” Twice shouted drunkenly, waving a bottle of sake around with a necktie (God knows where he got it) tied around his masked head, “Me and Toga-chan are back from the late night shopping run!”

“We got a bunch of super cool stuff!” Himiko shouted exicted, waving around a few tote bags over her head, “We got candy and clothes and sake-” She stopped, a toothy grin still stretching her face, “Well Twice drank all the sake-”

“I MUST PROTECT YOUNGER CHILDREN FROM THE DANGERS OF ALCOHOL TOGA-CHAN.”

“-Right, but there’s still a bunch of soda and beers and stuff so you guys…should…um…” She lowered her bags to look at her two teammates in mayhem, who had not so much as twitched in their seats since she and Twice had come in, “You guys okay?”

Dabi and Shigaraki muttered noncommittally, the fire wielder sinking a bit deep in his bean bag chair, and the boss of the League keeping his face firmly glued to his phone screen.

Twice and Toga looked at each other in confusion, before looking at Dabi for explanation, which they got when he lifted his head to see them staring at him, their eyes filled with questions, “Oh, yeah,” He muttered distractedly, “Our spy in UA quit.”

“Oh!” Toga exclaimed, as if that settled everything in a way that made sense, her sharp teeth shining in the dim light as she grinned as wide as possible and than some, “So I should go stab ‘em!?”

“No.” Was the unanimous mutter from both bean bag occupants, the girl deflating visibly at the dismissal.

THEN I SHOULD SEND A FEW CLONES TO CLEAN THEIR CLOCK?” Twice shouted, waving his arm holding the bottle around, stray sake spilling every which way.

“No,” Shigaraki muttered again, “They’re off the hook, they had good cause to leave.”

The two just looked more confused at that, when Dabi just sighed deeply, “Just look at Shiggy’s phone.”

At his command, the two walked until they were behind their boss, and leaned down to look at his phone screen.

Himiko gasped as she dropped her bags on the floor while Twice’s bottle slipped past his suddenly limp fingers to land on his toe, he barely even reacted.

“Oh…” Himiko breathed, her eyes wide and watery, “My goodness!” She she put both hands to her mouth in amazement, “Look at that smile!”

Twice stood completely motionless, his masked face utterly frozen.

“It’s so…so bright and adorable and-” Himiko gasped and shook her head, “And oh God I think I’m gonna cry!”

Not a single sound left Twice, his bottle of sake slowly draining itself on the carpet near his feet.

That’s it! That’s it I’m crying!” The psycho school girl sobbed, tears streaming down her face and ruining her make up, “I’m crying and I don’t want to stab people and just hug this angel oh my God guys I don’t want to stab people is that normal!?”

“Oh shut it already!” Shigaraki shouted, finally turning away from his phone to face the two behind him with a scowl, “You’re giving me a damn headache so calm down!” He looked at the still unmoving Twice, “And are you gonna stand there like a jackass all day or-”

A choked sobbing sound escaped from underneath the cloning villain’s mask, and then another, and another, and then he fell on his knees while sobbing ten times as loudly as Toga, taking off the necktie on his head to blow his nose with, “OH LORD IN HEAVEN DID I FACE AN ANGEL THIS DAY!”

While the two sobbed loudly, throwing their hands around each other, Shigaraki rolled his eyes and turned back around in his seat, returning his gaze to the picture of the bright and shining face of a white haired, red eyed girl.

He’d let them cry themselves out, and for Dabi to do…whatever the hell he was doing back there, get it out of their system. Chances are he doesn’t had to worry too much about any of them doing the same as the spy, but just in case he should probably have Kurogiri scout ahead on any potential attack location to see if the girl would be there.

The League could survive many things that could threaten to break it apart, but he guessed that the possibility of hurting that smile would be stretching even that too far.

Must be some quirk or something.

….or at least that’s why he figured he couldn’t keep his eyes away from the picture.

(He hoped she had fun in the festival.)

Eri’s smile= happiness and joy to all sorry don’t make the rules

spartanlocke:

“This smile. I will protect this smile. I will FIGHT YOU for this smile. You will not hurt this smile. For you see, there are some things in life worth protecting, some things worth living for. Some things worth dying for. A smile like this can thaw the iciest of hearts, dispel the darkest of evils and win the mightiest of wars. This smile will be the thing that PULLS US FROM THE DEPTHS OF DESPAIR AND AND LEAD US TO THE PATH OF SALVATION. WARS WILL BE FOUGHT, PEOPLE WILL BE SAVED, AND CIVILIZATIONS WITH PROSPER BECAUSE OF THIS SMILE. SO FROM THIS DAY FORWARD, I SOLEMNLY SWEAR TO SHIELD THIS SMILE FROM ALL HARM THAT MAY COME TO IT, ALL DANGERS IT MAY POSSIBLY FACE, AND GIVE MY LIFE FOR IT.”

– Deku, definitely. But also me.
