like also horikoshi saying that the front needs to be exposed to use the quirk is silly, like you can have more exposed skin on your back and avoid unnecessary titty-falling-out clothing malfunctions that would be inevitable the way her outfit is. a more practical way to have like fashionable stuff and exposed skin would be a HALTER TOP. cover the front, tie at the neck, and she’s got her entire back (and likely loose fabric over her stomach, too, which is still skin thats easily utilized)

also like. the fashionable bit is because she would want a hero costume thats like nice and stuff

But that’s incredibly stupid to have more of your skin exposed from your back. There are bound to be hundreds of ways her costume could have been designed differently, but the most important thing is to make sure the costume complements her Quirk in some way and doesn’t mess with it.

The reason why she’s exposing so much from the front is because it’s easy and more comfortable to pull out whatever from your front instead of reaching all the way to your back. She’s even showing more skin from her arms and legs, and thats because it’s so much easier to grab from those areas… compared to your back.

I’m not much of a fashion expert (especially in regards to female fashion), and I’m completely fine with how Horikoshi designed her costume because he made it in mind with actual legitimate practical use that works with her Quirk and not against it, but it’s just that whole idea of exposing more of your back when your Quirk is about creating items, and in the heat of battle you want to be able to grab your weapon quickly, or during an emergency you want your medical supplies to be right in front of you to quickly use, it just doesn’t really make any sense at all to have that idea.

Ok op, I’m going to ask you to do this little experiment, bare with me here please:

if your sitting or lying down please stand up, if your already standing good. Now I’m going to ask to act as if your grabbing an object, lets say its being made from your very person, from these areas:

  • your arms
  • your chest
  • your stomach
  • your back
  • your thighs
  • your legs
  • maybe your hips if they’re a bit on the meaty side

now which of those areas was easiest to grab an object you are in the process of creating with exact knowledge what components make up said object right down to its molecular structure.

Now do all that while surrounded in a sudden brawl where you need to be quick on your feet and precise in your actions while also taking in those needed areas where your artillery is being stored which could be obstructed by what you choose to wear.

To be quite frank, a halter top is going to do jack shit for me in a fight where I want my mind settled on the issue at hand and not trying to multitask by concentrating on what i’m creating, defending myself, taking in my surroundings, possible solutions to a emergency situation and maybe even need to see if the creation process didn’t get fucked up along the way because my mind is all over damn the place thanks to a stressful predicament I am now apart of since I sort of figured my talents would be put to best use in that field where this kind of situation is going to happen a lot.

Speaking as woman, If I need to grab a freaking strut out of my boobs Utena style then frick screw societal conventions of modesty I’m not ashamed of my body enough to let it stop me from handling an emergency situation where help is in direct need.

If your concern is for the boobs being put out there then by all means suggest a sports bra or bikini top but I personally would rather have easy access over making it difficult for myself in the long run when taking in what is advantageous for myself.

I’m sure theres going to be a redesign/little adjustments in all of the kids costumes over time, the author says as much, but to me Momo doesn’t seem to be going for a hero image as much as she’s trying to keep a balance in how her quirk works and meeting costume guidelines.

She’s looking to put her talents to use, thats why her hero image is only in a secondary consideration if at all put into any consideration.

@hatefilledpoptarts holy crap I fcking spat out my darjeeling tea after reading ur intro…jc i laughed so hard LOL A+++, and ud make a great gym teacher

Again it’s also important to take fat storage into consideration with Momo’s quirk. The back doesn’t usually carry as much fat as the front of the female body. And if you observe Momo when she creates large objects she tends to use the area of her chest (as shown in the image above) where her largest storage of fat resides. Honestly it’s been shown that Momo doesn’t give a shit about showing a boob or two, she’s too busy being a hero.

“she’s too busy being a hero”
