Right? This also happens on Pinterest too! In fact, Pinterest is a lot worse because after the first couple of Izuocha pictures, the rest are just tododeku, katsudeku, kacchako and other random stuff.

The fact that this pair is ao underepresented in the fandom will nevwr cease to annoy me

You know the very first time I got into this fanbase I was beyond shocked at the lack of izuocha shippers because people usually pair the main guy with the main girl.

The first time I went looking for ANYTHING for this couple and found myself starring into a dark empty abyss, I could hardly believe my eyes.

Hell, I STILL can’t believe it, it bogles the fucking mind

And the funniest part about this is that, izuocha is the only pairing in the entire series that’s actually made something close to a romantic interaction!
But I guess the fans that loved bnha since the beginning decided to ignore that and created a bunch of other ships, and then the new fans of bnha went just along with it.

Tell me something I don’t know!

Ship and let ship is fine and all, but for god’s sake give me something!

The main pair of a manga can’t be this unpopular! On both side of this shit we call a planet! 

(though to be fair it is a little more popular in japan. the Izuocha stuff on pixiv is a the mother load in a goldmine compared to the godforsaken desert that is tumblr)

Came in late myself and was surprised Izucha has more going for it than I expected imo I’m more used to shonen canon ships not getting nearly as much attention as lets say the BL or ‘lets not ship the mains together because thats booooring’ side of the spectrum (sorry i’m basic ¯_(ツ)_/¯)

Honestly, I’m surprised because Izuocha actually has so much more to it in terms of development, since most other shonen romances are highly underdeveloped justifying why people flock to other ships.

like you get insanely cute moments like these where you get a bit charmed at how simple and adorable with the more young infatuation stage

and then suddenly theres this depth to it and because its shonen no one expects it to take itself seriously in that department: girl gets jealous suddenly theres harems but no, thats not it (made more subverted because of who Kami really was during this). 

Ochako is really growing into her feelings and it can be complicated for her because she’s way out of her comfort zone and doesn’t quite know how to handle it.

I’m sure most consider it just another cookie-cutter shonen pair but I think its the most I’ve seen a shonen take its romance into serious consideration without leaving it feeling tacked on or just a f/m ship to latch onto or being a ecchi romcom. Both are developing and their feelings aren’t stagnant or built around escalating drama for drama, they are flawed and foolish and that fits right into where they are at this time.

After seeing some of HK & yagiushi’s art for them it made me realize it can get dark because they aren’t always two perfect darlings, they’re both young, inexperienced and they can make mistakes without having the best solution but they can also learn and do better. There are so many layers to it if you look a little deeper.

Izuocha might even be trumping my previous shonen jump top couple (yohxanna) just because they act their age. I like yohxanna but considering how old they were they sometimes behaved a bit too mature.

So its actually really pleasant to see these awkward kids stumbling and being a goofy about romance

I mean, how could you see something like this and not melt (≖ᴗ≖✿)

If they really were ‘boring’ how could I have come up with 7 oneshots for these two (despite the fact I have yet to even start the wips for any of them;;;;). Theres just something there worth looking a little deeper into.

I wish I could do art but unfortunately youths folly has me for only drawing profiles instead of testing for movement (darn my foolish self for not even attempting to get a hand to look like a hand). I did post a doodle for them but I prefer to write instead so heres hoping I’ll get my first oneshot out this year (fact: I’m a lazy overachiever)

And yeah I agree with all of the above. I swear the struggle of Izuocha fans is starting to become a meme…not quite sure how to feel about that…
