You know how when you’re a little kid and you don’t really know how most stuff actually works? So you make stuff up in your head that makes sense to explain it?

Okay so like, when I was like in pre school, I didn’t know how the radios in cars worked, and I just thought it was really cool how all sorts of songs would come out without you needing to put in a cd or whatever. And for like half a year I imagined that inside car radios were these little goblins, and these goblins had this record player that they would have play different music when you turned the knob and stuff, and would dress up as news anchors when the news came on.

And static was, of course, this big jerk goblin that would chew chips super loud right into the speakers or would rip a bunch of papers and generally be a huge dick about it when ever there was a song he didn’t like or if the news was boring. I named him David.

So every now and again when I’m listening to the radio and I hear static I shake my head and turn it off with a huff, “Fucking David at it again.”

…….my ADD was pretty wild back in the day let me tell ya.
