No. No you can’t write someone else’s story better then they can, or design their characters better, or do whatever it is they are doing better then they can.

Do you want to know why? Because, as soon as you start writing your so-called “better version” of another person’s story, it isn’t their story anymore, it’s yours. Even if you think you can come up with better twists, or a better or what ever, the simple fact remains that your version of a story will always be a desperate thing from the original creator of the story, so the simple fact remains that you are not writing a better goddamned version of someone else’s story.

What you write isn’t better it’s different in a way that YOU prefer.

You are writing your own story, and it could be good! It could be great! But it isn’t a better version of a story you have problems with and the more you keep insisting that you can write someone else’s story better then they can the more you look and sound like a FUCKING ASSHOLE.

This has been a PSA thank you and carry on.

Sorry if I don’t end up doing  much this week, my best friend came back from his studies in Ukraine but will go back on Saturday so I just want to spend as much time with him before he’s gone ^^; So I might be a bit absent for most of the day and/or unresponsive to messages.

Thanks in advance!

I really don’t like harem anime. Not only because most of them are the same with barely any variation (bland nice guy protag gets a bunch of girls interested purely for the fact that he is a Nice Guy, cue shenanigans and/or panty shots), but mostly cause the primary conceit of all of these shows is that all these women have literally nothing better to do with their lives and free time other then lusting over this bland dudes dick.

And don’t give me crap that it’s actually about “love” or whatever, the illusion these shows are selling is: “Hey you! Even if you’re terribly bland and have no outstanding skill or personality traits, chances are a lot of girls will want to fuck you!” Every single one, every single time.

It’s demeaning to the females characters on the show, implying that, again, they have no greater aspirations then to “get dat D”, it’s demeaning to the audience, and it’s just fucking stupid any way.

Not too mention 99% percent of these shows don’t have the balls to actually go anywhere beyond the realm of the “accidental boob grab”, I mean come on! If you’re going to be a shameless male fantasy, go whole hog with it!

Like, say what you want about High school DXD and Monster Musume, at least those two shows know what they are and use it to their advantage. Like, DXD has a protag with an actual personality, he’s loud, he’s brash, he’s a shameless pervert, plus he’s really smart, and the kind of women he meets would probably be attracted to one of those traits or another. Plus! He’s a male teenager with a personality that would make sense for a horny little asshole like him, it fits him and makes him interesting to watch and relate too far more then any vanilla low carb fuckstick self insert “audience surrogate” ever could be.

And Monster Musume goes all the way with it’s fanservice, to the point where it’s actually a little funny sometimes, plus there’s some interesting world building regarding the monster girls and their biology…kinda.

So, yeah, don’t care for harem shows…or harem fics for that matter, just give me one relationship to focus on thank you, quality over quantity after all -_-

The duality of Fanfic Writing:

“Okay! Here’s a bunch of nice and sweet one shots of slice of life heartwarming goodness! Nothing but smiles and gooey fluff here folks! Hope you enjoy!”

a few weeks later

“Okay so here’s a story where a named character gets kidnapped and has their arm broken by their captor…and another one where someone gets shot in the head. Enjoy!”

a day later

“Who wants fluff again!? :D”

Some crazy person on this hellsite about a Manga character: Too late she’s black now I don’t make the rules!!!!

Me, half asleep and very, VERY tired: She’s Asian you Fuck stick….
