1. It’s surprisingly wholesome. Sure there’s lots of nsfw art now, but ayyk92′s original comic wasn’t sexual at all, and fully respects the characters.
2. It transgresses boundaries, but in wholesome ways. The idea that Bowser and Mario would respect Peach’s rejection and go on rebound dates is hilarious. The idea that they’d immediately put aside their long-standing feud and date each other is hilarious. The idea that Bowser didn’t necessarily want Peach but just wanted someone to love him, and that even Mario would do, is hilarious. The idea that Bowser would willingly become Mario’s Peach replacement after he himself chased after Peach for so long is hilarious. And it results in basically a happy ending for everyone.
3. It’s not necessarily “what if Bowser was a sexy woman,” it’s just “Bowser, but Peach.” There are no negative judgments or statements inherent in the existence of Bowsette, it can mean what you want it to mean. Lots of people make it weird of course, but there’s nothing inherently wrong with it.
4. It’s an incredibly simple idea to get across. The original comic is only four panels and barely has any dialogue, which makes it very accessible.
5. It uses only in-canon items, or at least how they’re to be understood. No weird contrivances, just the newly revealed Super Crown. It’s Nintendo’s own damn fault for breaking their own lore
6. Ayyk92′s Bowsette design is fantastic. It’s simple, recognizable, and creative, reimagining a fusion of Peach’s dress and Bowser’s studded armbands as a “goth punk lolita dress,” which is surprisingly tasteful and surprisingly fits the character. You can instantly tell it’s the same old Bowser, only Peachified.
7. Given the above two, it sets the stage for artists to make their own interpretations of Super Crown’d characters. It doesn’t even have to be a genderbend, some artists have even used the Super Crown to make Bowser a buff samurai king, or to make a humanized Birdo. The concept is infinitely remixable.
Given all this it’s no wonder that it just exploded out of nowhere. It’s a perfect recipe-slash-excuse for creativity with a wide range of appeal from lewd to funny to wholesome. I for one welcome our new Koopa Mom Overlord

Yes, because Bruce definitely does not have his own anti-gun agenda. CLEARLY.
For anyone who watched “Batman: The Brave and the Bold,” the Batmite finale had a whole thing on this – Batman NEVER EVER uses a gun. Nobody tell his right-wing fans about that…
The whole thing about him and guns stems from his parents’ murder. like jesus fuckin christ people.
BATMAN HATES GUNS
BATMAN HATES GUNS
BATMAN HATES GUNS BECAUSE GUNS ARE WHAT CAUSED HIM TO BECOME THE BATMAN IN THE FIRST FUCKING PLACE
I have seen more comedic pics of bowsette than sexy ones. if all youre seeing is sexy bowsette then you need to reevaluate who youre following before you complain.
