I’m not much of a comics fan, in fact I don’t really read them at all, but I would be lying if I said that the one character that has compelled me the most to do so wasn’t Alfred Pennyworth

…I want to face palm so hard my head winds up in the next dimension over.

I just NOW realized my ask box wasn’t open! FUCK!

well, it’s open now(titled Fire Away!), so I guess I’ve done all I could to remedy this stupidity.

…this is what it feels like to be a noob at a website…I missed it

Tsuyu, dancing and singing deadpanned: Hello my baby, hello my honey,

Tokoyami, also dancing and singing: Hello darkness my old friend,

Tsuyu: Send me a kiss by wire,

Tokoyami: I’ve come to talk to you again.

My Hero Academia: Where the pair that is most likely to actually be cannon, with several moments highlighting it (Izuocha)…is one of the rare pairs.

Shipping something really sucks sometimes…

I joined a creative SciFi/Fantasy writing course yesterday, and I had a fucking blast. Everyone there was friendly and wrote really fucking well, and it was just a load of fun, but the highlight was actually after it was over.

The instructor drove four of us to the train station so we could get home, and on the way we discussed the following things:

* The fact that J K Rowling was still trying to control the HP cannon years after it ended, and how fucked up that is that she won’t let her fans just enjoy themselves.

* Death of the author.

*  Fanfiction, and the fact it has secured it’s validity as a separate medium in it’s own right  by right of little more of sheer volume.

* And ending it off with The Divine Comedy…which we concluded could be summed up as either:

1. An over-glorified Self Insert FanFic.

2. Dante getting a walking tour of Hell, Purgatory and Heaven from his favorite poet, who died several hundred years before, and saw him walking in the woods and decided to show him something cool cause’ he looked bored.

These next 10 weeks are going to be fun

Soooo…I just reread a few chapters of BNHA when something hit me.

The school trip arc could have ended a lot worse than it did.

I mean, a student and a pro hero were kidnapped, many more students were injured to the point of requiring hospitalization, and a civilian (Kouta) almost got killed as well, but it could have been worse.

Tsuyu and Ochako were completely alone when they fought against Himiko, who is a psychopathic killer, Shouji and Tokoyami escaped from Moonfish by the skin of their goddamned teeth, and Shouji still lost a limb, and it’s nothing less then a miracle that the majority of class B came out of exposure to fucking mustard gas with only falling into a coma.

Think back to when Izuku met Shigaraki in the mall, when it was over we saw Inko, absolutely terrified and in tears because it could have ended so much worse then it did.

The parents of the rest of Class 1-A and B were definitely informed about what happened to the kids on the trip, can you imagine what went through their heads when they did?

After the shock wares off, one of the most common things for people to dwell on after hearing a loved one was in the middle of a disaster is the question, “What if it had been worse?”

Ochako’s parents freaking out, frantically asking for details about their daughter (Ochako’s mom walking back in forth in a panic while her dad is screaming into the phone, ”Is she hurt!? Where is she right now!? I want to talk to my daughter right now!”), and when she gets home they fuss over her and see she’s covered in scrapes and bandages and then they stop dead when they see a puncture wound on her thigh, and rushing her to a doctor despite her protests, ”What if she injected you with something Ochako!? She could have done something with her quirk! She could have kill-! Her dad can’t finish the last part before all three of them burst into tears and just fall into a desperate pile with Ochako in the middle.

Tsuyu’s parents getting a call in the middle of work and dropping everything to catch the next plane back home, or alternatively they only find out when they got back because UA couldn’t reach them and they get hit by the thought their daughter could have died and the first people to hear about it would have been their two younger, not even middle school age, children. They cancel  and postpone as many of their upcoming trips as possible as a result, at least until Tsuyu talks them down…or at least tries to. (Christ, can you imagine how her siblings felt when they found out? As a brother to a soldier I can tell you that finding out your sibling was in a fight that could have cost them their lives is not fun.)

Tenya’s parents must have gone through hell. First Tensei nearly gets killed by a crazed murderer, and ends up paralyzed for the rest of his life, then their younger son gets caught in the middle of a villain attack during a school trip. All because they both wanted to carry on the Iida tradition.

Do you think Shouto’s mom heard about it? God I hope not, after everything the poor woman went through, hearing that her son nearly lost his life could have caused her to have another breakdown.

Bakugou was fucking kidnapped, he was held captive for several days,  and if Momo had been just a bit slower and not thought of sticking that tracking device on that Noumu, no one would have known where to look for him. I don’t want to even start to think of what went through his parents heads while they waited for the rescue operation, they could lose their only child, they might never see him again, the villains could just kill him and get rid of his body and no one would ever find it. They’ll have nightmares for years.

And that’s only talking about the parents we know something about, Shouji’s parents seeing his missing limb (if it didn’t grow back already, which I’m guessing it didn’t because the trauma was a bit severe), Tokoyami’s parents finding out he lost control of his shadow and nearly killed somebody, nearly all the parents of Class B flooding a hospital because their kids inhaled poison gas, and on and on and on.

This is what happens when you include parents into this kind of story, you see and can guess at the effect events like these could have on the people closest to the characters.

I hope every single UA parent gave their kid a huge hug after all this. I won’t be surprised if Inko wasn’t the only one with doubts about letting her kid back to UA.

Can I be real for a sec?

Warning, self statisfied gushing below the cut

You know, speaking as someone who hasn’t been an “active” member of the tumblr community for too long, I have to say my favorite part of the so-called “Tumblr experience” is when you make a post that you put some amount of effort into, that you’re actually a little bit proud of yourself for making, and you put it out there with a smile, but you don’t think it’ll get too many notes, “Maybe 50 notes,” you say to yourself, “That sounds reasonable.”

And, lo and behold, it gets 60. Nice!…after a day or two, the notes stop coming and you shrug, satisfied, “That’s about it I guess.” You move on with your day.

Imagine the surprise when you check your notes late one day to see the post has gotten up to 190 notes out of complete nowhere.

It happened to me twice so far, once with my post about BNHA 105, and again with my post about 111. Both times, I ended just staring at my screen, half in disbelief and half in sheer giddiness. Call it egocentric if you want, and honestly it really is, but seeing all those reblogs and likes just makes me so happy.

Seeing all the tags was even better, had me grinning like an idiot for a whole minute.

Basically, this is just me saying thank you to the ones who reblogged, liked, and tagged my stupid little tirade. (some of you tagged it as analysis of all things oh my god you have no idea how flattering that is, especially considering the people who do regular analysis of this manga do really good analysis)

This fandom is AWESOME.

You know, I started watching Sweetness and lightning while I was in Italy, and one of the things that occurred to me, after the realization that Tsumugi is probably the best written kindergarten-aged kid I’ve seen in an anime and that I love her to bits, is that the last name of one of the characters is Iida.

Ya know, like Tenya? From BNHA?

So, of course, the first thought I had after that realization was something along the lines of: “I want a crossover fic where Kotori and Tenya are cousins and she gives him a few cooking lessons to cheer him up after what happend to Tensei…also maybe he meets Tsumugi”

….So is someone gonna write it or am I going to have to actually get off my ass and actually do it myself?

I’m flying to Italy with my parents early tomorrow morning, and I won’t be back until the ninth of October. Just something to keep in mind if you’re wondering where I went off to!
